THE DOGS ARE OUT FROM HOME approximately four to six hours.  Home pick-ups are around 9-10:00 AM, drop-offs early to mid afternoon.  After the first outing, we pick up and drop off your dog without disturbing anyone at home per your Enrollment instructions.  All you need to send is your dog wearing his/her snug fitting cloth or leather neck collar.

PLAY is orchestrated, supervised and managed, never mayhem nor a free-for-all.  The dogs usually play full throttle the first hour, followed by softer frisks later on.  When they show us that they are tired & ready for an afternoon nap, we load them to return home.








TRANSPORT for the dogs is in our team's vehicles with "neighborhood car pools."  The pups are often waiting for us at the door to happily barrel in for the fun ahead.  They're very calm and patient on the way TO each day's playground, often snoring on the drive back home.  Why we no longer use vans is that, with a super vehicle, the pick up and drop off drive times are each around 1-1/2 hours each.  We think that time is better spent PLAYING!

RAIN DAYS  Even water-loving dogs generally hate rain.  We follow the instructions you provide on your Enrollment to either cancel and credit that day's outing, or take your dog out for a brisk take-care-of-business jaunt from home.

We hike from November thru February when snakes are hibernating.  We go to shady canyons with creeks when warm, and sunny mountain ridges when chilly.  Strong adult dogs cover the longest distance with the fastest pace.  Seniors, small fry, chubbies and puppies enjoy more relaxed treks.

Safe Leash Policy    With most of our play, the dogs are free to be legally and safely off leash in supervised, fenced areas.  During our hikes, dogs are on lead where required like fire roads and public trails, and only run free where permitted and if reliable (come to us without fail on call).   At our clients' private beach homes, we keep any dog with unreliable behaviors on a long training lead.
A Favorite of Many!  We bring a couple of dogs to visit a client's pup at his beach house.  Any unreliable dog is safely kept on a long training lead. 
In the Animal World, there are two positions, the leader and the follower. We at CLUB HAPPY DOG are the leaders.
We only allow dogs to be off leash if reliable and where legal.  Our favorite destination is a privately owned mountain playground which we lease.
